Product studio

We build connected products that do one thing, brilliantly.

Egghead Labs designs and ships small, useful, connected devices, all the way from the electronics and radio to the app and the cloud behind them. We make the kind of product you can hand to your grandmother and it just works.

What we do

The whole stack, under one roof.

Most connected products fail in the seams between hardware, firmware, and software. We own all three, so the product feels like one thing instead of three.

Hardware

Industrial design, electronics, and low-power and energy-harvesting wireless. From a sketch to a product our manufacturing partners can build at scale.

Firmware & radio

BLE, EnOcean, sub-GHz, WiFi, and cellular. The embedded and protocol work that decides whether a device feels reliable or flaky.

App & cloud

iOS, Android, and web from one codebase, plus the backend, alerts, and integrations that turn a sensor into something people trust.

Selected work

A family of products that do one job.

We build our own products and partner with teams who need a connected device shipped properly. A few of them:

Family & careTextMeButton

A single button that texts the people you love. One press, one message, no app to learn.

Health & safetyDailyDoseBox

A pill box that watches for the daily check-in and reaches the family if it is missed. Honest by design: it reports that the box was opened, never that a dose was taken.

IT & infrastructureOneClickReboot

Remote power-cycling for managed networks and unattended sites, with an API and a simple dashboard.

Building & energyEmbedded & gateway work

Energy-harvesting switches, BACnet and protocol gateways, and the firmware that bridges old building systems to modern software.

How we work

A few things we believe.

01
One job, done well
The best devices do a single thing so well you forget the technology is there. We cut features to protect the one that matters.
02
Honest by default
We never let a product claim something it cannot actually know. If a device loses contact, it says so, it does not guess and call it good.
03
Ship, then sharpen
We get real hardware into real hands early and let reality, not a spec sheet, tell us what to fix next.
04
Built to be handed off
Typed code, tests, and clear docs, so a team can own what we build long after we are gone.

Have a device worth building?

Tell us what it should do for the person holding it. We will tell you, honestly, whether we are the right team to build it.
